Maia Sandu: The Republic of Moldova did not denounce the agreements with the CIS earlier because of the multiple crises
The Republic of Moldova did not denounce the agreements with the CIS earlier because of the multiple crises our country is facing. The statement was made by the head of state, Maia Sandu, during the "Buna Seara" show on the public TV channel.
"We had to manage a lot of crises, the war came upon us, in the region we had the refugee crisis. We have had implications for the economy and still have them, but now we are somehow already used to this situation and have managed to take some measures. We focused on immediate and urgent issues. Now, because things have calmed down a bit, we are analyzing what relationships we have within these agreements. We had enough time to check and get evidence that this partnership is not for the benefit of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova", said Maia Sandu.
We remind you that, on May 17, the Chisinau Government denounced two agreements previously signed with the Commonwealth of Independent States. One of the agreements concerns the exchange of information in matters of external border protection, and the second concerns the general conditions for the delivery of goods between the CIS member states.
