Deputy Defense Minister of Kiev about the situation in Bahmut
The Deputy Minister of Defense in Kyiv, Hanna Maliar, announced on Saturday that Ukrainian troops control the outskirts of Bahmut in the southwestern part of the Litak district.
According to her, the offensive activity of the enemy in the direction of Bahmut is reduced. On Friday and Saturday, no active clashes were reported - neither in the city nor on the flanks. However, the Russians are actively shelling the outskirts of the city.
Maliar emphasized that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are maintaining their positions in the area of the heights that dominate Bahmut in the north and south of the city. Also, the official emphasized that, on Friday and Saturday, the Ukrainian army suspended its advance in order to fulfill other tasks.
Hanna Maliar also explained that the decrease in the offensive activity of the Russian troops is due to the fact that the invaders are regrouping and are trying to strengthen their capabilities.
