Ambassador: Italy is interested in cooperation with the Republic of Moldova in several areas
Italy is interested in cooperating with the Republic of Moldova in several areas, the priorities being organic agriculture and viticulture, said Lorenzo Tomassoni, Ambassador of the Italian Republic in Chisinau, in an interview with Radio Moldova. According to the diplomat, Italy supports the Republic of Moldova in reforming the justice and defence sectors.
"The interest of the Italian side is to be able to contribute to the reform process that Moldova has started in order to strengthen the rule of law. We also have many other projects that we intend to develop in the economic sector, with particular attention to agriculture and the wine sector, sustainable organic agriculture. We particularly appreciate the Moldovan contribution to the Italian-led NATO KFOR mission. It is a contribution that makes Moldova participate in international security, not only as a consumer, but also as an international producer of security", said Lorenzo Tamassoni.
June 2 was the National Holiday of the Italian Republic, the country where the largest Moldovan community in the European Union is located, about 120 thousand.
