Air Moldova extends flight suspension until the end of June
Air Moldova is suspending all flights until 30 June, inclusive. The announcement was made in a Facebook post, stating that Air Moldova is going through a restructuring process and passengers will receive notifications, at their email addresses, with refund and rebooking options.
"Passengers who purchased their tickets online, on the company's website, will receive a refund upon request, on the card with which the ticket was paid. Passengers who purchased their tickets by paying cash/card through agencies will be able to receive the cash/card refund once the commercial and operational activity of the company resumes," Air Moldova adds.
On 2 May, Air Moldova announced that it was suspending its flights until a court decision on the approval of the company's accelerated restructuring plan is handed down. Subsequently, the deadline of 16 June 2023 was announced.
The problems faced by Air Moldova came to the attention of the authorities and civil society after the company started cancelling its flights en masse in April this year.
Earlier, Prime Minister Dorin Recean said that the government is working with companies from Hungary, Poland, Romania, but also local companies, so that more flights will be taken over by those companies.
The Prime Minister said that "Air Moldova was defrauded by the Șor group".
