NBS data: Annual inflation rate in the Republic of Moldova, decreasing

The annual rate of inflation in the Republic of Moldova was decreasing in May for the seventh consecutive month, however it remains well above the National Bank's target of 5%, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

Annual inflation in May was 16.3 percent, compared to over 18 percent in the same period last year. Thus, the further reduction of the annual inflation rate, recorded starting from November 2022, was marked, reports the National Bureau of Statistics.

Compared to April, prices increased by 0.5%, and since the beginning of the year by almost 5%.
