University diplomas will be quickly and securely accessible online. Thus, the diplomas issued by the universities of the Republic of Moldova since 2009 can be downloaded from the Citizen's Portal. This has become possible thanks to the collaboration between the Ministry of Education and Research and the eGovernment Agency. Baccalaureate diplomas will also soon be available in digital format.
Accessing and downloading university diplomas is possible from anywhere in the world, said the director of the eGovernment Agency, Olga Tumuruc. This project makes it easier to issue and securely store documents and other personal data.
"Today, on the Citizen's Portal, study documents are available for those who have an electronic signature and graduated from higher education after 2009. The diploma is just a click away and you can always access it and present it where requested", says Olga Tumuruc.
Minister of Education and Research Anatolie Topală says that the digitisation process is a priority, as set out in the Education Development Strategy for 2023-2030.
"Digitization of educational diplomas is just one of the elements related to digitization in education and through the Education Development Strategy 2030 we have set this area as a priority. The digital diploma can be used, for example, to be sent to an educational institution. Even if we don't have the diploma, we are somewhere else, we can access through MCabinet the diploma, which has the necessary legal value and can be used," said Anatolie Topala.
According to the Ministry of Education, the digitisation of diplomas is a world-renowned practice that allows graduates to have quick access and control over their documents and ensures security and portability. It also gives institutions and employees the ability to check them quickly and securely, without waiting for paper diplomas to be issued.
The Citizen's Portal can be accessed at mcabinet.gov.md and authentication is done by electronic signature, mobile signature or with the data from the ID card. It also provides other personal information, from identity, civil status, health, education and other documents.
