Cooperation on the dimension of the Republic of Moldova's accession to the EU, discussed by Igor Grosu with the new Foreign Minister of Romania
The collaboration between the Republic of Moldova and Romania on the dimension of accession to the European Union was discussed by the Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, with the new Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania, Luminița Odobescu. The officials also discussed cooperation in areas such as infrastructure, energy interconnection, digitization and increasing security capabilities.
During the meeting, the Parliament Speaker found that there is a very good dynamic in terms of parliamentary collaboration following the first joint meeting of the Parliaments of the Republic of Moldova and Romania, organized last year.
"At the Parliament, we are in the process of adopting projects that bring us closer to our goal this year - the opening of negotiations with the European Union. The successes recorded by the Republic of Moldova in the European course are due, first of all, to the support from Romania and the diplomacy from Bucharest, which is very vocal at the European level", stressed the Parliament Speaker.
We mention that the new Foreign Minister of Romania, Luminița Odobescu, paid a two-day visit to Chisinau, at the invitation of her counterpart from the Republic of Moldova, Nicu Popescu. It is the first visit that the head of diplomacy from Bucharest is making in her position of Foreign Minister of Romania.
