Chisinau authorities are examining the possibility of reducing the number of Russian diplomats accredited in the Republic of Moldova
The Chisinau authorities are examining the possibility of reducing the body of Russian diplomats accredited in the Republic of Moldova. Their number will be equal to that of the Moldovan diplomats accredited in the Russian Federation, said the Parliament Speaker, Igor Grosu, in a show on Jurnal TV.
"I opt for parity. Now we have to make assessments and have no illusions that they will change their behavior, as they treated us with disrespect, so they will continue to treat us. Now assessments are being made and a proposal will be made in this regard", said Igor Grosu.
We remind that, previously, the deputy of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) Andrian Cheptonar said, on a show on Exclusiv TV, that he requested the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to initiate discussions so that the Russian Federation would have parity in the number of diplomats in Moldova. According to him, the Republic of Moldova has six diplomats in the Russian Federation, while the Russian authorities have 40 diplomats in our country. "Besides these 40, there are almost as many technical collaborators," added the deputy.
