World Bank offers the Republic of Moldova 60 million dollars to modernize the education system. The project was examined by the parliamentary committee

The World Bank will offer the Republic of Moldova financial assistance, in the form of a grant and a loan, in the amount of almost 60 million dollars for the modernization of the education system. At today's meeting, the Foreign Policy and European Integration Committee examined draft agreements that provide for this. The Secretary of State from the Ministry of Education and Research, Adriana Cazacu, said where the money contracted from the World Bank will be invested.

"The activities under the loan agreement will be the following: development and implementation of the ongoing education program for selected teachers and managers regarding professional standards. organizing a program for disadvantaged children who have gaps in education, equipping around 200 general education institutions with IT equipment, including equipment for students with disabilities", said Adriana Cazacu.

The grants, totaling about $20 million, and the $40 million loan provided to our country by the World Bank, will be used to create safe, modern and responsive learning environments. With these funds, three new lyceums will be built and 15 schools and 15 kindergartens will be repaired. Investments will also be made in the physical and digital modernization of learning environments in around 200 schools. The grant and loan agreements will be proposed for examination and ratification in the plenary session of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova.
