Expert: At Vilnius Summit, NATO confirmed support for Moldova in the field of security and defence
The Final Declaration of the NATO Summit in Vilnius, with a point concerning the Republic of Moldova, confirms the support that the North Atlantic Treaty Alliance offers to our country for the security and defence sector, security expert Elena Mârzac told Radio Moldova.
"NATO welcomes our success in democratic reforms, a more specific and particular commitment to support and deepen the development of defence capabilities for the Republic of Moldova, and here we are referring both to programmes and projects to strengthen defence capabilities, as well as to professionalisation, integrity, professional development, cooperation in the field of cyber security and the development of our capabilities to respond to hybrid threats. And certainly support for Moldova's resilience to these hybrid threats," said Elena Mârzac.
On the margins of the NATO Summit in Vilnius, the Republic of Moldova signed a Border Security Agreement with Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Ukraine.
