Decrees on the resignation of the three ministers published in the Official Gazette. Who could take over as head of institutions
The decrees signed by head of state Maia Sandu on the resignation of the three ministers of the Recean government have been published in the Official Gazette, MOLDPRES reports.
The announcement on the resignation of Interior Minister Ana Revenco, Education and Research Minister Anatolie Topala and Infrastructure and Regional Development Minister Lilia Dabija was made on Friday by Prime Minister Dorin Recean.
On Monday, the prime minister will present the new candidates for these positions to the president.
Recean's government was sworn in on 16 February, these being the first reshuffles. Interior Minister Ana Revenco and Education and Research Minister Anatolie Topala held the same positions in the Gavrilița government, while Lilia Dabija took over the portfolio of Infrastructure and Regional Development after serving as secretary of state in the same ministry in the previous government.
Several names are being bandied about in the public arena to take over the vacant portfolios. PAS MP Dan Perciun has confirmed that he is one of the candidates who could head the Ministry of Education. PAS MP Adrian Cheptonar or the current head of the IGP, Viorel Cernăuțeanu, could be appointed to the interior, but this has neither been confirmed nor denied by the two. And, at the head of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Andrei Spînu is rumoured to return. He told the press that the names would be made public on Monday, without giving further details.
