A suspect in the murder of Oleg Horjan has been identified
Former member of the so-called Transnistrian legislature Oleg Horjan allegedly allowed attackers to enter his house. This hypothesis is put forward by the investigative bodies subordinate to the separatist authorities in Tiraspol. According to them, the main suspect is political activist Andrei Duminică, who was in the same prison as Oleg Horjan.
Tiraspol investigators believe that Oleg Horjan was killed by three or four people. Investigative bodies under the Tiraspol separatist authorities assume that his murder was not originally planned. The suspects allegedly intended to take the keys to the safe where the money was kept, but the victim tried to resist. The main suspect in the case is political activist Andrei Duminică, who has been convicted of extortion, robbery and bodily harm. Andrei Duminică has been put on the wanted list as a result of this case, says Left Bank investigator Veceslav Brînzari.
"At present, it can be stated with certainty that the attackers' aim was money. I assume that it was a robbery attack during which the citizen Oleg Horjan was inflicted with bodily injuries so that he could not resist. This is established by forensic examination of the injuries," says Veceslav Brînzari.
Oleg Horjan, a former member of the so-called Transnistrian legislature, was found dead in his home in the village of Sucleia near Tiraspol. The Moldovan police claim that he had been shot.
Earlier Promo-LEX called on the constitutional authorities of the Republic of Moldova to promptly and effectively investigate the death of Oleg Horjan, the former leader of the Communist Party in Tiraspol, who was killed in suspicious circumstances in his home in the Transnistrian region, and to present the results of the investigation. According to the association, Oleg Horjan was a victim of the Tiraspol regime and was one of the few public figures who had the courage to fight for fundamental rights and freedoms.
At the same time, tomorrow at the meeting of the Special Parliamentary Monitoring and Control Committee on the implementation of the reintegration policy of the Republic of Moldova the murder of Oleg Horjan will be discussed. The meeting will take place behind closed doors.
Oleg Horjan was sentenced by the separatist authorities in Tiraspol to four and a half years in prison in 2018 for organising protests and was released last December.
