Ambassador of Croatia: the Republic of Moldova has every chance to start negotiations for EU accession by the end of this year
The Republic of Moldova has every chance to start negotiations for joining the European Union by the end of this year, if it manages to fulfill all the conditions of the European Commission. The statement was made on the "Diplomatic Dimension" show on Moldova 1 TV by the Croatian Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, with residence in Bucharest, Marija Kapitonovic. According to the diplomat, Croatia supports our country in the process of European integration, together with Ukraine and the countries of the Western Balkans.
"If the criteria are met, Croatia will have a positive position. We also have a positive position regarding the accession of Ukraine, and I want to emphasize that we are very involved in supporting the European accession of our immediate neighbors - the countries of the Balkan region", said the ambassador.
Referring to the regional situation, Ambassador Marija Kapitonovic stated that the management of the illegal migration crisis remains a concern of Schengen countries, including Croatia, which is also concerned about the large flow of migrants.
We remind you that Croatia joined the European Union on July 1, 2013, being the last country to obtain this status, and on January 1 this year it became a member of the Eurozone and the Schengen area.
