US: Man shot dead by FBI agents for threatening to kill White House leader
A man wanted for months by US authorities for threatening to kill President Joe Biden has been shot dead by FBI agents in Utah, hours before a planned visit to the state by the White House leader, Euronews.co.uk reports.
The FBI said a suspect was killed early Wednesday when officers tried to arrest him in Provo, south of Salt Lake City. An investigation is ongoing, the FBI added without providing details about the man identified as Craig Robertson in a complaint to federal prosecutors in Utah.
According to the ongoing investigation, the man presented himself as a strong supporter of former President Donald Trump and repeatedly threatened Joe Biden in social media posts.
The Secret Service, tasked with protecting high-level government officials, said it "is aware of the FBI investigation" but did not provide further details.
