Moldova under yellow warning for atmospheric instability
Meteorologists issued a yellow warning for atmospheric instability on August 30, 2023. The warning is in effect until 10:00 PM local time.
The warning states that there is a risk of thunderstorms with short-duration rains, isolated heavy showers (15-20 litres per square metre) with hail and gusts of wind up to 15-20 metres per second in the northern half of the country.
In recent weeks, Moldova has experienced record-breaking heat waves, with temperatures reaching up to 40 degrees Celsius. Yesterday, meteorologists warned of the risk of wildfires until mid-September.
