Russian TV tower attacked with drones
A TV tower in the Bryansk region of Russia was attacked with drones overnight, according to the region's governor, Aleksandr Bogomaz. He said that no one was injured and there was no damage.
According to Rador, the attack is one of several that have been reported in Russia in recent weeks. On Tuesday night, drones attacked several cities, including Pskov, Bryansk, Kaluga, Oryol, and Ryazan. The most significant attack appears to have been on the Pskov airport, which is both civilian and military. According to reports, two military transport planes were set on fire and four other aircraft were damaged. All flights to and from the airport have been cancelled, and operations have been suspended until August 31.
The drone attacks against Russia and the Crimean Peninsula, which Russia annexed in 2014, have increased in recent weeks, targeting the Russian capital of Moscow in particular. The attacks are seen as part of a Ukrainian counteroffensive that began in early June.
