Moldova and Romania to synchronise cultural events
In recent years, there has been a growing trend of synchronisation of major cultural events between Moldova and Romania. These joint actions by the two countries' Ministries of Culture are aimed at promoting cultural identity and heritage, as well as showcasing the talents of artists from both countries.
Victor Chirila, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Moldova to Romania, said in an interview with Radio Moldova that such an event is the celebration of Romanian Language Day.
"This is a special day. We are not only celebrating Romanian Language Day, but also our common Romanian culture, identity, and history. I am pleased to note that in the past two years, the Ministries of Culture of Romania and Moldova have organised more joint events. We have a synchronised calendar of celebrations. Romanian Language Day is an example of this, as it will be celebrated in both Bucharest and Chisinau, where we will also have a large international book fair, Bookfest, which was previously held in Bucharest."
According to a statement from the Embassy of Moldova in Romania, several more joint events are planned for the remainder of this year, both in the capitals of Chisinau and Bucharest, as well as in other cities.
