Russian drone fragments found in Romania, minister confirms
Fragments of a Russian drone have been found on Romanian territory, confirmed by the Minister of Defense, Angel Tîlvăr, Antena 3 reports.
According to initial information obtained exclusively by Antena 3, several pieces of a drone used by Russia in attacks on targets in Ukraine have been discovered in Romania, indicating that the drone crashed on Romanian soil.
The discovery was made in Tulcea County, in the Plauru area, near the border with Ukraine, following the overnight attacks on Ukrainian Danube ports.
Initially, the information was provided by Ukraine and was verified by Antena 3 reporters. Today, teams from the Ministry of National Defense (MApN), including Defense Minister Angel Tîlvăr, were dispatched to the scene to search for the wreckage of the crashed drone.
"It has been observed that within a relatively short time frame, Russia carried out a series of attacks against Ukrainian port facilities and depots. That is why I believe it is important to strengthen our vigilance measures. We will have more observation points and more patrols. At the same time, the equipment we use, which can technically cover the area, remains functional and in a phase of increased caution and attention. Because we have covered a very large area, including the area that has been discussed in the public space, and I confirm that in this area, drone fragments have been found," stated the Romanian official.
During the night of September 6, the Russian military attacked the Ismail port in Odessa with drones for nearly three hours. As a result, one person died, and several goods were destroyed.
