Japan to donate 24 demining cranes to Ukraine
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and Japanese Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi met in Kiev on Saturday to discuss bilateral cooperation, with the main focus on business, according to Rador.
Shmyhal thanked Japan for its support, including financial and humanitarian assistance, and for the sanctions imposed on Russia. He also said that Ukraine had already received $2.1 billion in macro-financial assistance from Japan.
The two officials also discussed cooperation in the reconstruction of housing, ensuring food security, supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, and demining Ukrainian territory.
"We expect Japanese businesses to become residents of Diya.City, a space that offers unique legal and tax advantages," Shmyhal added, referring to a government application that allows businesses to register online.
Hayashi said that Japan would continue to support Ukraine and promised that Tokyo would donate 24 demining cranes. Japanese entrepreneurs who accompanied the minister also presented cooperation projects in Kiev, particularly in the areas of communications, infrastructure, and medicine.
