Interior Ministry will strengthen the fight against drunk drivers and drug users
The Legislative and the Interior Ministry will amend several laws that refer to road safety, and pedestrian crossings near educational institutions will be illuminated, the president of the National Security, Defense and Public Order Commission Lilian Carp said today.
"We will amend the legislation so that we can test drivers for drug use. The speed could be limited near the educational institutions, we want the pedestrian crossings to be lit compulsorily".
Lilian Carp also emphasized that the legislative initiatives are also supported by the International Children's Emergency Fund of the United Nations, as well as other external partners who want to help the Republic of Moldova to develop community security.
The President of the National Security, Defense and Public Order Commission also pointed out that in our country it is necessary to have a road safety communication program in schools, and the legislation will be amended in such a way that the opinion of the Interior Ministry regarding the location of tracks for cyclists , people with disabilities or pedestrians to be mandatory, but not advisory.
