EU and Moldova agree to lower roaming fees
The Republic of Moldova and the European Union have agreed to lower roaming fees starting on January 1, 2024. The agreement was signed today in Brussels by representatives of Moldovan telecommunications operators and the European Regulatory Authority for Electronic Communications.
The agreement will benefit both Moldovan citizens travelling to the EU and European citizens visiting Moldova. The new fees will be in effect until December 31, 2025, with the possibility of extension.
"This is another important step towards reducing roaming costs between the EU and Moldova," said Moldovan Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Dumitru Alaiba. "It is a significant progress for our citizens, tourists, and entrepreneurs, which will lead to more efficient communication."
