Expert: "The peaceful reintegration of the Republic of Moldova can be supported by Western partners"
The meeting of over 30 foreign ministers, within the framework of the Support Platform for the Republic of Moldova, which will take place in Chisinau in October, would be a good opportunity for the Chisinau authorities to request more support for a political and peaceful resolution of the Transnistrian conflict, said the expert from Bucharest, Mihai Isac, on Radio Moldova's "Zi de Zi" show.
"Recent events in Nagorno-Karabakh have shown that these regions are a permanent point of tension used by the Russian Federation to control these regions. The peaceful reintegration of the Republic of Moldova can be supported by the Western partners, including by granting sums of money for the reconstruction of that part of the country and for the creation of new economic opportunities. The support of the Western partners is constantly increasing, it is maintained, and it is necessary for the Chisinau authorities to directly request support, both on a general and specific level", explained the expert Mihai Isac.
We remind you that our country will host, on October 17, the fourth edition of the Support Platform for the Republic of Moldova, initiated by Romania, France and Germany.
According to Prime Minister Dorin Recean, the meeting will also discuss support for covering budget expenses, as well as two funds for the recovery of losses caused by the economic decline in the Republic of Moldova. They will target infrastructure development, transition and energy independence, as well as adaptation to environmental changes.
Representatives from more than 30 countries and international organizations will participate in the meeting.
