Maia Sandu signed the decree appointing Petru Rotaru to the position of Minister of Finance
On Thursday, September 28, President Maia Sandu signed the decree appointing Petru Rotaru to the position of Minister of Finance. Rotaru is to take his oath, today, at 15:00, in the presence of the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu.
We remind you that, on Wednesday, Prime Minister Dorin Recean proposed Petru Rotaru as Minister of Finance, after Veronica Sirețeanu went on maternity leave.
Petru Rotaru is currently the head of the State Fiscal Service, having been appointed to this position on March 30. He previously worked in the financial and fiscal field since 2006, both in the private and public sectors, including, in the years 2010-2012, he led the Ialoveni State Fiscal Inspectorate.
Petru Rotaru graduated from the Faculty of Finance at ASEM. Moreover, he also holds a master's degree in Financial Tax Law at the same institution.
