The Republic of Moldova and Romania will receive 77 million euros for cross-border cooperation

The European Commission (EC) has approved the Interreg NEXT Romania-Moldova 2021-2027 Program, which provides for the allocation of 77 million euros for cross-border cooperation between Romania and the Republic of Moldova, reports Moldpres.

The money will be directed to investments in projects for the prevention and resilience of the risks of natural disasters, in the conservation of biodiversity, while contributing to the economic development of local communities. The Program will also invest in education and training. The medical sector will also be financed through investments in infrastructure and state-of-the-art medical equipment. Tourism and culture, including improving access to historical monuments in the area, are other areas included in the Interreg NEXT Romania-Moldova Program.
