Dorin Recean: Moldova Support Platform will become a Partnership for development
The Moldova Support Platform has mobilized essential aid in 2022 for our country to overcome multiple crises, Prime Minister Dorin Recean declared during the Government meeting. The Prime Minister emphasized that this meeting will become a partnership for development in the future.
"The help provided in 2022 by the Support Platform was critical to overcome multiple crises, especially related to Russia's aggression in Ukraine, and from now on we will use this platform for development partnership. Here I want to thank ministers Spînu and Parlicov for showing the most important projects, necessary for the development of the economy", said Dorin Recean.
We remind you that 57 delegates from over 30 European states as well as Japan, Great Britain, Canada and the USA participated yesterday in the fourth meeting of the Moldova Support Platform. Dozens of international organizations and financial institutions participated in. The conference focused on six working groups: economy and finance, anti-corruption, administrative reform, social and refugee issues, energy and climate, but also the topic of security. International partners have expressed their continued support for our country, with several funding agreements being signed.
During the ministerial conference, 6 Memoranda of Understanding were signed that will contribute to the modernization of our country in the field of energy, infrastructure and adaptation to climatic conditions. Thus, the Republic of Moldova will benefit from a financial support of 148.7 million euros, which includes 38.7 million euros in grants and 110 million euros - loans under favorable conditions and for the development of strategic sectors.
Also, during the event, Prime Minister Dorin Recean proposed the creation of a Solidarity Fund and the development of an economic recovery plan. Also, the prime minister proposed the transformation of the Support Platform into a Partnership Platform, with an emphasis on infrastructure and energy projects, economic modernization and Moldova's preparation for EU membership.
The Moldova Support Platform helped us overcome the crises of 2022, and now it will help us modernize and progress on our European path.
