"About 50 citizens stranded in the Gaza Strip have requested help. They are in contact with the Embassy in Israel. The authorities in Egypt have the list of these citizens, they need visas to enter Egypt, we discussed with the Egyptian authorities that this requirement be suspended during this crisis. The Israeli authorities also have the list of our citizens in Gaza and, when the situation on the ground will allow us, including through contacts with our partners. Most of our citizens moved to the south of the Gaza Strip to be closer to the border crossing," Nicu Popescu declared.
The Minister said that in the margin of the submission the Moldova Support Platform, he discussed with its counterparts from France and Germany about the situation of the compatriots in the Gaza Strip and received assurances that as soon as they arrive in Egypt, they will be able to take the plane to Germany or France, to later arrive in the Republic of Moldova.
