The Republic of Moldova denounces two more CIS agreements because they are not applicable
The Republic of Moldova will denounce two more agreements with the CIS. The members of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Policy and European Integration today approved the reports for two opinions on the denunciation of the Agreement on the principles of providing the Armed Forces of the Member States of the Community with armaments and equipment, as well as the one on collaboration in the field of labor migration and social protection of migrant workers.
The basic reason for denouncing the documents, invoked by the authorities, is the fact that the Republic of Moldova does not apply the document in practice. In the spring of this year, Chisinau launched a process to denounce several agreements within the CIS, which it claims are not applied or are not in the interests of the Republic of Moldova and do not affect its collaboration in this organization.
The decision arose criticism from Moscow. The Republic of Moldova has signed over 300 agreements within the CIS, an organization created after the collapse of the USSR, de facto controlled by Russia.
