Natalia Gavrilița: "The government will do its best to support and to protect citizens"

The Government of the Republic of Moldova met on Wednesday, December 28, in the last meeting of this year. At the beginning of the meeting, after the members of the Cabinet of Ministers were caroled, Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița thanked her colleagues for the work done during the year and assured that the Executive will work, in the new year, for and in the interest of the citizens.

"This is the last meeting of the government since 2022. I want to thank all of you who are here and who are working with you for your efforts in this difficult year. We demonstrated that the Government is one of hope and of the people. Today we have a good news meeting. This is how we should end this year - with many government decisions, opinions, which bring good news to the people", said Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița. The Prime Minister assured that the Executive from Chisinau will be with the people in the coming new year as well. In this context, the head of the Cabinet of Ministers recalled the support policies for citizens developed by the central authority during the current year, including the increase of child allowances, pensions or the granting of compensation for categories of citizens vulnerable from an energy point of view, assuring that these will continue in 2023. "It is important to support each other and to have solidarity and inner understanding. The government will do its best to support and protect its citizens during this difficult period", said Natalia Gavrilița. According to Natalia Gavrilița, on Thursday, December 29, starting at 18:00, as a sign of solidarity with Ukraine, the Government and its subordinate institutions will turn off their lights. In his speech at the beginning of the meeting, the country's prime minister urged other state institutions to join the gesture. It should be noted that the Government met in session on Wednesday, starting at 13:00. The agenda includes 41 Government decisions, including the increase, from January 1, of the single child birth allowance.
