Currently, according to the official, there are discussions between the two banks of the Nistru, but not in the 5+2 format.

"In general, we see that they understand what the consequences can be in the case of escalation, and I think the best thing is that we manage to keep peace and quiet. Now, obviously there is discussion and interaction, not in the 5+2 format, there can be no question of resuscitating this format, it is outdated and counterproductive. Discussions, contacts take place at the level of political representatives. Now the main thing is to maintain peace, the citizens there anyway, at the behavioral level, they see the difference, they understand that peace and stability is linked to the European Union. 70% of everything they produce there goes to the West", declared Igor Grosu.

We remind you that the negotiations in the Transnistrian settlement process in the 5+2 format have been blocked since 2019 and cannot be resumed due to the start of the war in Ukraine by the Russian Federation. Under these conditions, the Chisinau authorities are holding talks with Tiraspol in the 1+1 format.
