LIVE // Maia Sandu, message to citizens: "Use the power of your vote for the future of all of Moldova"

President Maia Sandu addressed all the citizens of the Republic of Moldova this evening, urging them to vote on Sunday, November 5.

UPDATE 20:15 Maia Sandu: "We have serious challenges ahead, even in these elections, the pro-Kremlin forces, the pro-war forces will try their best to block our European path. With dirty money, with parties paid by the Kremlin disguised as pro-European parties, by buying votes they will try again to subjugate Moldova to foreign interests and to keep our country in an area forgotten by the world. State institutions will defend democracy, but only your vote can be stronger than attempts to sell Moldova. That is precisely why it is so important that we all go out to vote, to build tomorrow's European Moldova with our vote. Our common objective is to build European villages and towns. We will succeed if we all work towards this goal, and it depends on our vote on November 5. On Sunday, go out to vote, all those born in the village and all those born in the city, and use the power of the vote for the future of the whole of Moldova."

UPDATE 20:10 Maia Sandu: "We have the mission to bring the European Union home. It is our common mission, so that tomorrow's children of Moldova live in a European country, wherever they are born or grow up. The road to get there is complicated and it is not a day or two, we still have a lot to do. We have started projects in more than half of Moldova's localities through the "European Village" national program and we have well-established development plans for all localities."

UPDATE 20:02 Maia Sandu: "Today, Moldova is taking big steps towards European integration. And we have a chance to become EU members thanks to your dear vote. Every vote counted in the previous elections so that we now have a real chance to become members of the European family, where people live in peace and prosperity. Despite immense obstacles, despite a corrupt authoritarian regime that ruled the country through fear, despite the Kremlin's propaganda, the people emerged victorious and we learned how much our vote matters. On November 5, the power of your vote is just as great. In the next four years, how we will live in each locality will depend on the mayors and councilors we elect. On Sunday's vote, on the people we elect, it depends on whether there will be a good road in our community or not, whether the kindergarten will be renovated and water and sewerage will be laid or not, whether local projects will be carried out or the village will be left in disarray. This is up to us, the people of the villages and towns.”
