Klaus Iohannis begins his visit to the Republic of Cape Verde as part of his African tour

President Klaus Iohannis begins his visit to the Republic of Cape Verde on Monday, the penultimate stage of his African tour, the previous ones being Kenya, Tanzania and Zanzibar. The last stop of the head of state in Africa will be in Senegal, reports Hotnews.ro.

At 13:00 Romanian time, Klaus Iohannis will be received by the President of the Republic of Cape Verde, José Maria Neves, at the Presidential Palace, with the official reception ceremony, one-on-one talks, official talks and joint press statements scheduled. At 14:30, a visit is scheduled with the President of the Republic of Cape Verde, José Maria Neves, to the City Hall of Praia, followed by the laying of a wreath at the "Amílcar Cabral" Memorial.

The program of the visit of President Klsus Iohannis also includes meetings with the Prime Minister of Cape Verde, José Ulisses Correia e Silva and with the President of the National Assembly, Austelino Tavares Correia.

Iohannis will visit Cidade Velha, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and will have a meeting with the mayor of Cidade Velha and the President of the Cultural Heritage Institute.

The day will end with a state dinner.

On Tuesday, President Iohannis meets with former students from Cape Verde who studied in Romania.
