NATO chief warns world must 'prepare for long period' of war
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg warns Vladimir Putin has not given up on his plans to control Ukraine and says everyone must 'prepare for a long period" of war, The Guardian reports.
In an interview with the German news agency DPA, Jens Stoltenberg said that there is "no indication that the Russian president has changed his overall objective of this war", which is "to control Ukraine". Russia has mobilised "many new troops" and "demonstrated that it is willing to suffer painful losses," the NATO secretary general said.
The head of NATO called on allies to provide Ukraine with military aid "to convince President Vladimir Putin that he will not achieve his goal of taking control of Ukraine."
