A group of parliamentarians from Chisinau participated in the National Assembly of France
The European path of the Republic of Moldova, cooperation on the platform of specialized parliamentary committees, the cyber security of the country, but also the fight against disinformation were the topics discussed by a group of deputies from Chisinau during the visit to the National Assembly of France, between November 27 and 1 December. The deputies had a meeting with a group of Moldovan citizens living in France.
The discussions focused on several current topics, including the reforms initiated by the authorities in Chisinau, the challenges faced by the Republic of Moldova in the EU accession process, ensuring the social protection of Moldovan citizens living and working in France, as well as conversion of driving licenses for our citizens who are in France.
The delegation included the president of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with the French Republic, Marcela Adam; the president of the Culture, Education, Research, Youth, Sport and Mass Media Commission, Liliana Nicolaescu-Onofrei; the vice-president of the National Security, Defense and Public Order Commission, Ana Racu; the vice-president of the Social Protection, Health and Family Commission, Liliana Grosu; the member of the Foreign Policy and European Integration Commission, Mihail Druta and the member of the National Security, Defense and Public Order Commission, Andrian Cheptonar.
At the beginning of the visit, the deputies from Chisinau attended the plenary session of the National Assembly of France and were greeted by the president of the French Legislative, Yaël Braun-Pivet. Also, the officials had meetings with the members of the Parliamentary Friendship Group, as well as with the representatives of the committees for foreign affairs and European affairs of the National Assembly of France.
The visit of the delegation of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with the French Republic takes place at the invitation of the president of the France-Moldova Friendship Group within the National Assembly, Delphine Lingemann.
The subject of strengthening the capacities of state institutions in ensuring cyber security and combating disinformation was addressed during discussions with the representative of the Audiovisual and Digital Communication Regulatory Authority, Benoît Loutrel.
The agenda of the visit also included meetings with the general administrative secretary of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie, Damien Cesselin, as well as with the director for Continental Europe within the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Brice Roquefeuil.
