The third attempt: repeated elections in the village of Aluatu, Taraclia district
Today the repeated voting takes place in the second round for the election of the mayor of Aluatu village, Taraclia district. According to the Central Electoral Commission, so far, the process is proceeding normally. During the day, 767 voters are expected at the elections. By 09:00, 6 people voted. More precisely, it is about a woman and 5 men.
We remind that, in the village of Aluatu, elections were held in the second round of voting on December 3 current year. Then less than 20% of the number of people registered in the electoral lists participated, and the CEC declared them invalid.
However, according to the legislation in force, in the repeated voting in the second round of voting, the candidate who obtained the highest number of votes, regardless of the number of voters who participated in the voting, is considered elected.
We remind that, in all, in eight localities in the Republic of Moldova, the elections of November 5 were invalidated due to the low turnout.
