Amidst challenges, Sandu champions solidarity in Christmas plea
In a Christmas message imbued with both serenity and resolve, President Maia Sandu urged Moldovans to seek solace in family, uphold core values, and embrace the spirit of unity and humanity amidst ongoing challenges.
"As we celebrate the birth of Christ," Sandu declared, "let us find sanctuary in the peace within our homes and cherish the safety of our loved ones." Acknowledging the difficulties posed by the war in Ukraine and other hardships, she emphasised the importance of enduring resilience, stating, "We must remain steadfast in our commitment to life and unwavering in our belief in the power of good."
Underscoring the deeper meaning of the Christmas season, Sandu stressed, "This holiday offers a sacred opportunity for forgiveness, reconciliation, and understanding." She championed the nation's foundational values, advocating, "Let us find strength in our unwavering spirit of unity, unwavering bonds of solidarity, and unwavering essence of humanity. These values are our compass in these turbulent times."
