Alexei Buzu: The employment rate in the Republic of Moldova is the lowest in the region
The employment rate in the Republic of Moldova is about 40% and is the lowest in the region, said the Minister of Labor and Social Protection, Alexei Buzu. According to the official, out of the 2.5 million people in the country, about 840 thousand citizens are employed, which is a worrying indicator.
Alexei Buzu also said that this year, through the National Employment Agency, people from vulnerable categories found a job.
"This year, practically, 11 thousand people were employed with the help of the National Employment Agency. Here we refer to the most vulnerable people, people who have incomplete education, rural areas, people with disabilities, young people, who were outside the labor market. In 2022, the Agency employed 8,400 people, so we have an increase of approximately 20 percent".
According to the Minister of Labor and Social Protection, Alexei Buzu, Romania has an employment rate of approximately 65 percent, and North Macedonia 45 percent.
