Buckle up for a wintry wallop, Moldova. The Hydrometeorological Service has issued a code orange warning for a potent combo of a southern cyclone and a frigid polar air mass slamming into the country from January 7 to 10, promising a meteorological shakeup.

Expect precipitation to shift from raindrops to sleet and snowflakes, culminating in heavy snowfall on January 8, with a dash of isolated blizzards for good measure. Roads will likely turn treacherous with snowdrifts and ice lurking, so tread carefully.

"We urge citizens to be prepared for this wintry onslaught," stressed the Service. "Drive with caution, stay warm, and consider staying indoors if possible."

Meteorologists warn of sleet accumulating on power lines and trees, potentially causing disruptions. Brace yourself for a significant temperature drop, with the average daily mercury plummeting by 10-15 degrees Celsius between January 8 and 10.
