Environment Agency: The level of air pollution in the Republic of Moldova has decreased

The level of air pollution has improved on the territory of the Republic of Moldova, the Environment Agency announces. According to a press release from the institution, in the last 24 hours, meteorological factors, the wind and the lack of fog, predominantly contributed to the dispersion of pollutants in the air.

We remind you that the past few days, the level of air pollution in the municipality of Chisinau has been increasing due to thermal power plants operating on fuel oil. If on December 23 and 24, in Chisinau the daily average was exceeded 2.4 times for air pollutants, on December 30 the limit was exceeded 2.8 times. Pulmonologists say that particulate pollutants can cause lung cancer and affect the health of people who have asthma.
