Mihai Popșoi: Western sanctions on Russia must be used to rebuild Ukraine
The sanctions levied against Russia are deemed ineffective, failing to achieve their intended goals, including the restoration of damages and lives lost.
Moldovan Vice Speaker, Mihai Popșoi, asserts that the 300 billion euros seized from Russia must be tactfully reinvested in Ukraine. This stance was articulated during the winter session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).
Popșoi emphasises the need for OECD member states and democratic nations to strategically allocate confiscated funds toward Ukraine's defence, shielding the nation from ongoing bombings and profound suffering. He advocates viewing support for Ukraine as an investment in a peaceful, prosperous, and stable Europe.
Additionally, Popșoi announces his impending assumption of the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, marking his final participation in PACE.
A delegation from the Moldovan Legislature, including deputies Ion Groza, Natalia Davidovici, and Adela Răileanu, alongside vice presidents Mihail Popșoi and Vlad Batrîncea, is currently attending the winter session of PACE in Strasbourg. Moldova has been a member of the Council of Europe since 1995.
