Luminita Odobescu: Russia talks about spheres of influence and does not only refer to Ukraine
Russia talks a lot about spheres of influence, and not only about Ukraine, but also about Eastern Europe. Thus, the risks are major for Romania and we do not know what will happen in the coming years, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs from the neighboring country, Luminița Odobescu, in an interview for Digi24.
According to the head of diplomacy from Bucharest, Romania still has vulnerable partners, such as the Republic of Moldova.
"There are still vulnerable partners, such as the Republic of Moldova. We have all seen the destabilizing actions, because Moldova bravely chose a different path. Just as bravely, the Republic of Moldova has taken measures to reduce its dependence on Russia, and I refer to the energy sector. But we must always think ahead. It is very important for our citizens to understand, especially now, this year, when we are celebrating 20 years of NATO membership and also preparing for a 75th anniversary summit, that we have solid security guarantees, but on the other hand, together with the other European partners, we must be prepared", declared the minister.
Luminița Odobescu emphasized that Russia is not only waging a military war, but also a hybrid one, which affects Romania, the Republic of Moldova, but also the European states, especially in view of the elections that will take place this year in several countries.
