Cahul district in quarantine for 45 days: A case of African swine fever was detected

A 45-day quarantine was instituted on the territory of the Cahul district, after a case of swine fever was detected in a wild boar, found dead near the town of Zîrnești. The decision was taken by the Commission for Emergency Situations of the Cahul district, which convened yesterday, February 7, in an extraordinary meeting.

Citizens are urged to respect the rules imposed by the authorities to prevent the spread of swine fever outbreaks.

"It is essential that all citizens are aware of the importance of following the restrictions and measures established to prevent the spread of African swine fever outbreaks. Active collaboration between the authorities and the community is crucial for limiting the risk of virus transmission and protecting pig herds", reads the statement posted on the page of the Cahul District Council.
