The Republic of Moldova aims to make public buildings more energy efficient
The Republic of Moldova aims to make 3% of the surface area of public buildings more energy efficient each year, in order to reduce energy losses and, respectively, the costs of energy resources. According to the Ministry of Energy, about 50% of energy consumption in the country belongs to the buildings sector, including public ones.
The source mentions that this value is 3.4 times higher than the European average and energy efficiency measures are needed. In this context, public authorities are urged to use the guide to energy efficiency in buildings, developed with the support of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe.
The guide is structured in three main parts that provide an overview of the existing situation, define the necessary measures and conclude with an estimate of the values of the measures and the cost index of their construction.
