Moldova Optimizes Border Crossings, Focus on North
Moldova to optimise border crossings with particular focus on the northern border, following a comprehensive assessment.
Some local points may gain national status, Interior Minister Adrian Efros revealed on RLIVE TV.
The goal is to close local points and consolidate into national crossing points that meet European standards. This will reduce staffing at smaller locations.
"With the ongoing war at our border, we prioritise protecting Moldova's territorial integrity and maintaining strict control at all points. We'll optimise points, especially in the north, ensuring they meet European standards," said Adrian Efros.
There are currently 11 border crossing points between Moldova and Ukraine. For security reasons, some of them were closed periodically last year.
