Romania Sets June 9 for European Parliament & Local Elections
The Romanian Government has officially announced June 9 as the date for the European Parliament and local elections, according to Radio România Actualități.
Following an emergency ordinance passed by the executive in Bucharest, individuals will be eligible to run for both elections.
Voting will take place until 10:00 PM, with the option to extend the deadline until midnight if necessary. Voters will receive five ballot papers: one for MEP candidates and four for local elected officials, county council, president, mayor, and local council positions.
Additionally, the electoral campaign for this election has been extended from 75 to 90 days.
