Moldova Appoints New Finance Watchdog President
On March 21st, the Moldovan Parliament appointed Tatiana Sevciuc as the new President of the Court of Accounts. Sevciuc will serve a five-year term.
She holds a doctorate in economics and was previously a member of the Court of Accounts, having been appointed by Parliament in 2022.
This position became vacant after the term of office of the former President of the Court of Accounts, Marian Lupu, expired.
Sevciuc took the oath of office before the Parliament. As President of the Court of Accounts, she will be responsible for overseeing its work. This independent body is charged with auditing the financial activities of the government and other public institutions.
