The Republic of Moldova reached a new record in the export of grapes

Last year, exports of table grapes reached a new record for the Republic of Moldova, totaling 66.3 million dollars, which is 55% more than the previous year, said economic expert Veaceslav Ioniță. According to him, the number of countries to which the Republic of Moldova exports grapes has also increased. Romania, Russia and Poland are the main destinations of Moldovan table grape exports in the last two years.

"We have the highest export, if in 2022 we had 69 cents for a kilogram, in 2023 we had 95 cents. In two years, we exported 30 percent to Romania, 24 percent to the Russian Federation, 9.8 percent to Poland, we exported Belarus to Kazakhstan. In 2023, we exported to 36 countries", said Veaceslav Ionița.

Veaceslav Ioniță also found that table grapes are the first in the top of fruit exports. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the geography of exports expanded considerably last year, deliveries are made to 33 countries, compared to 23 in 2022.

New destinations include Sweden, Slovenia, Slovakia, Serbia, Italy, Lithuania, United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, Kyrgyzstan and Albania.
