Two other cases of measles, confirmed at a temporary placement center for refugees in Chisinau

Two new cases of measles were registered at a refugee placement center in Chisinau. This was announced by the head of the Medical and Social Assistance Directorate of the Chisinau municipality, Vladimir Bolocan. According to him, in all, 21 cases have been confirmed in this center so far.

Vladimir Bolocan said that the epidemiological situation in Chisinau "is carefully monitored" by the Public Health Center.

"Last week, two more cases of measles were identified in the refugee placement center. It is about two children, one aged nine and another aged 10, totaling now 21 cases. Otherwise, the situation is under control, no new outbreaks have appeared, which means that the population of Chisinau is getting vaccinated", announced Vladimir Bolocan.

In this context, Bolocan emphasized that it is important that the population continues to vaccinate to prevent the spread of the disease.

According to the data of the National Public Health Agency provided to Radio Moldova, in 2023, over 88 thousand children were vaccinated against measles, rubella and mumps, in all three doses were administered, at the age of 1, 7 and 15.
