The accession to the European Union and the reintegration of the Republic of Moldova are different processes, said the representative of the European Union for the negotiation process regarding the Transnistrian settlement, Dorota Dlouchy-Suliga, at the Reintegration Forum, which took place today in Chisinau. According to the official, European integration is not a process of conflict resolution, but it could also have this effect. More than 100 officials and experts from the Republic of Moldova and several European countries participated in the forum.

Without peace in Ukraine, it is difficult to talk about the settlement of the Transnistrian problem, said the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Oleg Serebrian, at the Forum. According to the official, the Chisinau authorities must coordinate their actions with international partners.

The executive director of the Institute for Strategic Initiatives, Vladislav Kulminski, mentioned in his speech that with the start of the war in Ukraine by Russia, the geopolitical transformations in the region are so fast that they require appropriate political solutions.

According to the representative of the European Union for the negotiation process regarding the Transnistrian settlement, Dorota Dlouchy-Suliga, the EU wants to have a safe and stable member in the case of Moldova. She also stated that it is also in the interest of Tiraspol to maintain security and stability in the region, because the current status-qwo cannot last forever. There are many difficult topics in the context of Moldova's reintegration - economic, monetary, educational integration, said the US ambassador in Chisinau, Kent D. Logsdon. The American diplomat assured that his country will continue to support the Republic of Moldova, noting that the commitment for reintegration is an assumed one.

We remind you that, today, the first Reintegration Forum of the Republic of Moldova took place in Chisinau. According to the organizers, the event aims to contribute to the creation of a national vision regarding the country's reintegration process, through a dialogue platform and discussions with representatives of public authorities, civil society, research centers, international organizations and diplomatic missions.
