The identification of new investments for the Republic of Moldova vertical gas transportation corridor, discussed in Brussels

The need to identify new investments, which would increase the potential for transporting gas through the vertical corridor, which has already helped the Republic of Moldova to diversify its gas supply sources and reduced its dependence on the Russian Concern Gazprom, was discussed by the Minister of Energy, Victor Parlicov, at the informal meeting of the Ministers of Energy from the European Union, which is held in Brussels.

Victor Parlicov emphasized the importance of connecting the Republic of Moldova to the EU energy system and market. The minister also urged the meeting participants to make efforts to achieve the long-term climate goals, which assume that the Republic of Moldova will become climate neutral by 2050, having an economy with zero net emissions of greenhouse gases .

The event brought together ministers from the 27 member states. The representatives of the ministries from the partner states of the community bloc, as well as personalities from the international political and academic sector, also participated in the discussions.
