Oleg Serebrian: The incidents on the left side of the Nistru are intended to social unrest

The incidents in the Transnistrian region are intended to sow unrest in society, said the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Oleg Serebrian, in the show "La 360 de grade" on Radio Moldova. The official claims that there are several hypotheses as to who would be behind the multiple incidents, but in the opinion of the authorities it would be groups from the Transnistrian region guided by external forces.

"Our opinion is that there are certain forces from the left side of the Nistru with external complicity. On the one hand it looks like panic, on the other hand it may also be an interest of those who have de facto control in the Transnistrian region. It is necessary to explain why these excessive controls are needed when crossing the Nistru, why an emergency situation is needed, the so-called Yellow and Orange Code in the Transnistrian region. These things must have an argument", declared Oleg Serebrian.

We remind that since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, several incidents have taken place in the Transnistrian region. The most recent ones refer to the case on March 17 when a military unit in Tiraspol was allegedly attacked with a kamikaze drone, and the second incident, on April 5, is about a drone that allegedly attacked a military unit from Râbnița.

According to the Chisinau authorities, all these cases were staged by certain people in the region to panic the citizens.
